General Info

written and originally performed by Chas Hodges & Dave Peacock

Bösendorfer & Vocal : Tori Amos

"London Girls" is 1 out of 2 songs of Chas & Dave that Tori covered in the B-Sides of Boys for Pele, the other one being "That’s What I Like Mick (The Sandwich Song)."

When asked about why she chose to cover these artists, Tori explained that the crew listened to them a lot during the recording process. "...the guys would sing ’Mustn’t Grumble’ and I would go, ’Who does the grumble song ?’ They said, ’Chas and Dave,’ and I asked them to show me more stuff that they did. I heard ’London Girls’ and ’That’s What I Like Mick’ and I just said, ’Roll tape guys, press the red button.’ I wrote down the lyrics so fast then just went in and cut them."
